Position Description:

As Senior Director of Product Management, you are responsible for creating and coaching a world-class team of product managers. You are an experienced and visionary leader with a proven track record of creating high-quality SAAS products, leading a team of product managers, identifying key metrics, and relying on current product management best practices and philosophies. You are obsessed with data-driven methodologies to build products better. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer (CPO), you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s product strategy. You will also work collaboratively with our development, marketing, and sales teams.

Success in this role is more than just the daily management of the team – it’s about releasing world-class products in the best way possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Attract, build, manage, coach, and develop a talented and diverse team of product managers and product leaders to ensure successful product development, launch, and ongoing management
  • Build Great Products: Translate product strategy and vision into detailed requirements and practical roadmaps
  • Research: Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for growth
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, sales, and marketing to ensure successful product development and launch
  • Metrics and Performance: Define and track key performance metrics to measure the success of products and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance
  • Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve product management processes and strategies
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Clear Communication: Communicate product development progress and updates to senior management
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Need to Have

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products in the software industry
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and proficiency in using analytics tools to inform product decisions
  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery in a SAAS environment
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing other product managers with a clear understanding of your role as the primary coach of your product managers, and how that differs from managing products directly

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Monday.com, and Salesforce
  • Experience managing budgets, resource allocation, and timelines for software development projects
  • Familiarity with user experience principles
